Smithers Medical Products is proud to introduce a new tool to the arsenal when it comes to treating your decubitus patients, the Alpha Cradle Side Form. No two patients are alike, and this is even more true when trying to fix your patient in the decubitus position. The form consists of an extruded polystyrene base for maximum support. Four, different, cut to shape pieces of expanded polystyrene are used to create a shell for the patient. These include a back support, head rest, chest support piece and a unique arm block to give the lowered arm something to hold on to and the upper arm a support piece. Add two sets of our proprietary AC660, our largest sets of foam to date, and you have an extremely durable form that comfortably immobilizes your patient. Most importantly, this is the first tool that allows you to reposition your decubitus patient quickly, accurately and comfortably on a daily basis. Note the deep hand and forearm groove to hold the patient comfortably into position. This is something Vac bags, previously bean bag chairs,  cannot do adequately. Only these deeply impressioned, customized anatomical forms can be made to exactly fit your patient.
